The front loop is the arms coming forward, hands open, in a gesture of offering help and support. Physically, the gesture is ‘jump, I’ll catch you’; however, it also encompasses the offer of emotional or psychological or financial support that one person can offer to another.

Tonderai is one of Shona Sculpture Gallery’s most popular artists, and it’s easy to see why. It is almost inconceivable that an artist could create such an intricate work from a single piece of stone.

Springstone is the local name for a hard type of serpentine stone. It has a dense, even internal structure of small grains of rock with very few flaws, and is the perfect medium for Tonderai’s technically challenging style. It is suitable for outdoor display.

Imperial measurements are:
35 1/2″ (h) x 24 3/4″ (w) x 14 1/4″ (d) and 142 1/4lbs.

This sculpture is in Zimbabwe and will be shipped from there;
P&P at  buyer’s expense.

If you’d like a freight quote, please email us giving your nearest airport and/or sea port along with your contact details.

Unsurprisingly, freight from Zimbabwe can be expensive. Therefore, as a rough guideline, we would advise you budget approximately at least half as much as the sculpture for the additional shipping costs.
