Shona sculptor Rufaro Murenza portrait photo

Rufaro Murenza

These girls are the same age and they are inseparable, the closest of friends. They spend all their time together.

Lots of movement and energy in this lovely sculpture of two girls, arms intertwined as they dance along. Rufaro trained under acclaimed sculptor Joe Mutasa and his work is crisp and beautifully detailed. Unsurprisingly, he has received national acclaim for his creativity, as a winner and frequent runner-up of the National Arts Merit Award for sculpture.

This stunning sculpture is a very versatile size – it would make a wonderful garden centrepiece, but equally, it could be displayed in a large interior space.

Springstone is the local Zimbabwean name for a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is suitable for outdoor display, but we would recommend covering this piece during a hard frost for peace of mind, as some parts of the sculpture are quite thin.

Imperial measurements are:
39.6″ (h) x 20.5″ (w) x 13.8″ (d) and 167.6lbs.

Overseas shipping is from Zimbabwe via air or sea freight;
P&P at buyer’s expense.

If you’d like a freight quote, please email us¬†giving your nearest airport and/or sea port along with your contact details.

Unsurprisingly, freight from Zimbabwe can be expensive. Therefore, as a rough guideline, we would advise you budget around at least half as much as the sculpture for the additional shipping costs.
