This lovely elegant piece is the largest sculpture we have from Peter at the moment. It would make a super centrepiece in a garden, as it looks elegant from all angles. OUR TIP: use a spotlight to pick out the matt white surface, so it really stands out at night as well!
Peter is well-known for his sculptures of birds, executed with his customary attention to detail and perfect finishing. Here, he has kept things simple, to great effect: this striking sculpture is defined by its clean, elegant lines.
He achieves the brushed effect of the feathers by stroking the stone with a blunt rasp. To create the shiny parts, he has sanded the stone smooth, then heated it and applied clear wax; once it’s cool, he buffs it up to a shine.
Springstone is the local Zimbabwean name for a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is impermeable and is suitable for outdoor display, even in temperate climates.

Please note freight is as cargo to your nearest port; you would need to engage the services of a clearing agent to do customs clearance and arrange onward haulage to your delivery address.
