Zimbabwean artist Joe Mutasa portrait photo

Joe Mutasa

Sculptor

A young woman at the height of her beauty, looking her best as she is dressed up for the big day.

Joe Mutasa made this amazing sculpture at a granite-sculpting workshop held at the Chapungu Sculpture Park in Harare in 1998. Two guest artists from Japan led the workshop. They taught the participating artists various techniques for working with this challenging material.

The resulting artwork is one of the most significant statement pieces Joe has ever created.

Granite is an incredibly hard crystalline stone and is very difficult to work. Clearly, it is suitable for outdoor display in all climates.

This sculpture is in Zimbabwe and will be shipped from there. If you’d like a shipping quote, please contact us giving your nearest airport and sea port.

Please note: overseas shipping from Zimbabwe is as cargo. Therefore, you will need a clearing agent to do customs clearance upon entry, and to arrange onward haulage to your delivery address. Fortunately, this isn’t as complicated as it might sound, and using an agent is definitely better than trying to do it yourself.
