Edward is the oldest surviving ‘first generation’ Shona sculptor, as he is now about 90 years old. He’s still sculpting and his distinctive style makes his work instantly recognisable and very sought after.

The Shona Sculpture Gallery opens in Harare

Guruve’s sister gallery, the Shona Sculpture Gallery, finally opened its gates to the public in March 2016 after three years of preparation. With a delightful sculpture garden and a Spanish-style verandah for smaller works, we are already getting great reviews on TripAdvisor. A much-needed positive development for the art movement and artists on the ground in Zimbabwe!
