“An identifying personality trait or physical feature that is passed down through the generations within a family. There are three repeating circles that represent the feature repeating through the generations.”
This sculpture is a lovely example of Tonderai’s complex abstract style. It would make a perfect garden centrepiece, as it has interest from every angle.
Tonderai is one of Shona Sculpture Gallery’s most popular artists, and it’s easy to see why. It is almost inconceivable that an artist could create such an intricate work from a single piece of stone.
Springstone is the local name for a hard type of serpentine stone. It has a dense, even internal structure of small grains of rock with very few flaws, and is the perfect medium for Tonderai’s technically challenging style. It is suitable for outdoor display.
This sculpture is in Zimbabwe and will be shipped from there; P&P at buyer’s expense. Please contact us for a shipping quote giving your nearest airport and sea port if you are tempted.
