Sculptor

The bride signifies a young woman at the height of her beauty, and looking her best as she is dressed up for the big day.

Granite is an incredibly hard crystalline stone and is very difficult to work. Joe made this amazing sculpture at a granite-sculpting workshop held at the Chapungu Sculpture Park in Harare in 1998. Two guest artists from Japan lead the workshop and taught the participating artists various techniques for working with this challenging material.

The resulting artwork is one of the most significant statement pieces Joe Mutasa has ever created.

Clearly, it is suitable for outdoor display in all climates.
